COMPANY - band bio
Christopher Teret, Stephanie Rabins, David Janik, and Adam Davison played together in various punk, rock and experimental bands in the late 1990s. Moving to Brooklyn in 2001, they started a band called Company with a question: "What if we channeled the raw improvisational energy we bring to our bands into the original folk and country songs we play for each other and friends in our living rooms?" The result was an ongoing performing, recording and songwriting collective and an electric folk rock sound that continues to resonate with listeners thirteen years later.
Jagjaguwar imprint Brah Records released two Company albums, "Parallel Time" (2005) and "Old Baby" (2008), and the band has self-released two others, "Hills" (2004) and "Night Ground" (2010), as well as a triple album of unreleased material in 2012 entitled "Ark." In 2011, Company formed its own label, Papasan Recordings, and is set to release its latest album, "Over the Mountain," as a vinyl LP, a CD, and a digital download on August 8, 2014.
