Time has been a slippery, labyrinthian puzzler for the old babies in Company.
Time, for a decade or so, was measured by the celebration of New Year's Eve.
Time would come to purchase a bottle of prosecco and get on the F train to Queens.
Times changed, and air travel or a Mazda hatchback became requirements.
Time moved slower then—Deirdre and Adam often cooked a large meal.
Time allowed for fireside guitar-passing song circles and sloppy afterparties.
One time, ten or eleven years ago, Company got down to the basement to record.
Time after time, Company played five and a half songs, until they were just about right.
Time passed. Time weathered, dissected, and seasoned the songs. More time passed.
Time has come to gussy up New Year's Eve and release it from its sustained hibernation.
